In June, a customer of UCM from Russia officially placed an order for a mineral sizer specifically designed for coal mining operations. After a tense production cycle, this equipment successfully completed all production procedures on August 2nd. Today, it has successfully passed the no-load test run conducted by our factory and performed outstandingly.

The main demand of our UMM customer is to conduct primary crushing treatment on raw coal. To meet this specific need of our customer, we conducted detailed communication and adjustments. According to the parameters provided by the customer, the maximum size range of the feed should be between 500mm and 1000mm, while the discharge should be controlled within the range of 100mm to 300mm. Additionally, it is required to have an efficient processing capacity of 1,500 tons per hour. Based on these requirements of the customer, we have carefully selected the most suitable mineral sizer model to ensure that it can complete the work tasks efficiently and stably.

At present, this mineral sizer has successfully passed the no-load test run in our factory. All performance indicators of the equipment, such as rotational speed, vibration and noise, have met the expected standards and are basically ready for shipment. We have made full preparations and are ready to deliver the goods at any time according to the customer’s requirements to ensure that the equipment can be put into actual production as soon as possible and help the customer improve the efficiency of coal mine operations.

During the communication with the customer, the customer repeatedly mentioned the issue of mineral sizer malfunctions. Common causes of failure include wear of the teeth on the gear plate, damage to the hydraulic coupling, etc.

Common Faults and Solutions of Mineral sizer

Tooth wear of tooth plate

Crushing tooth plate is the wearing part in mineral sizer, which has the characteristics of a short service cycle, high cost, long relief operation time, and large workload.

When the teeth of the mineral sizer gear plate are oppressively worn, if they aren’t replaced in time, it’ll lead to a series of product problems, similar as reduced crushing effectiveness, inordinate crushing flyspeck size, material blockage in downstream outfit, and reduced washing and selection effectiveness.

Especially when the coal quality deteriorates and the gangue content in the coal increases, the teeth of the tooth plate wear out more fleetly, and the tooth plate needs to be replaced every three months. thus, the conservation cost of the mineral sizer has remained high, plying significant pressure on product and operation.

Handling and improvement measures

In the process of choosing a mineral sizer, for the selection of a primary mineral sizer, precedence should be given to those models with interchangeable tooth tips. The significant advantage of this design lies in that when the tooth tips wear out or get damaged due to long- term use, they can be replaced snappily and accessibly without the need to replace the entire gear comber factors, thereby greatly reducing conservation costs and time and perfecting the nonstop operation effectiveness of the outfit.

Also, when choosing a secondary mineral sizer, attention should also be paid to the replaceability of its toothed plates. For illustration, the tooth plate of our secondary mineral sizer adopts the dovetail groove installation system. The advantage of this design lies in that the dovetail groove structure can insure the stability and delicacy of the tooth plate installation. Meanwhile, when conservation or relief is demanded, it only requires simple disassembly and installation, which greatly simplifies the conservation process and reduces time-out. The overall application effectiveness and lifetime of the outfit have been enhanced.

Hydraulic coupler damaged

In the structure of the mineral sizer, the hydraulic coupling is connected to one end with the motor leg and the other end with the spline of the reducer, serving as a flexible connection during the operation of the mineral sizer. During the operation of the mineral sizer, it frequently occurs that large jewels or other debris, similar as iron objects, get stuck on the gear comber. This fault is veritably likely to beget damage to the coupler, performing in wear and tear of the splines of the coupler, which is the most common fault of the coupler.

Handling and improvement measures

The hydraulic coupling is equipped with a soft launch function to buffer the impact on the power grid, and it also has the protection functions of fusible entrapments and explosive entrapments. When the crushing toothed comber is overfilled and blocked, the hydraulic coupling disconnects the transmission system by melting the capacitive draw and releasing the transmission medium in the depression, thereby guarding all corridor of the transmission system from damage.

Reduction gear failure

During the operation of the reducer, problems similar as oil painting leakage, abnormal increase in noise, or unstable operation may do. The circumstance of these marvels frequently indicates that there may be some implicit faults inside the reducer. Specifically, oil painting leakage may be caused by the aging or damage of the sealing corridor. inordinate noise may be caused by severe gear wear and tear, poor meshing, or damaged comportments. Unstable operation may be caused by poor lubrication, inordinate gear concurrence, or bearing failure, etc.

Handling and improvement measures

Slicking oil painting plays a pivotal part in the operation of reducers. It can effectively reduce the disunion and wear and tear between gears. thus, we need to regularly check the slicking oil painting of the reducer to insure it’s clean and meets the operation conditions. Once it’s determined that the slicking oil painting has deteriorated or is inadequate, it should be replaced instantly to help inordinate gear wear and tear due to poor lubrication and thereby extend the service life of the reducer.

Overheating is another important factor leading to the failure of reducers. To help the reducer from conking due to overheating, we can equip it with a temperature detector to cover the reducer’s operating temperature in real- time.

Once an abnormal increase in temperature is detected, immediate measures should be taken to cool it down, or the machine should be shut down for examination to identify the cause of overheating and carry out corresponding repairs to insure the safe and stable operation of the reducer. Through this temperature monitoring system, we can instantly descry and handle implicit thermal faults, effectively enhancing the functional trustability of the reducer.

Conclusion

By assaying the faults of different modules and proposing targeted enhancement measures, the service life and product effectiveness of Mineral Sizer can be effectively enhanced. Regular examination and conservation, especially for crucial and vulnerable corridor, can effectively reduce unforeseen malfunctions and lower the pressure on product and operation.
